Join us for some all-ages fishy fun! Release salmon fry into the Serpentine River, enjoy a hatchery tour, take part in children’s activities and enjoy a walk through river habitat. Have a barbecue lunch at the concession. Allow at least one hour to complete all activities. The Tynehead Hatchery is located at the 96th Avenue entrance to Tynehead Regional Park, between 160th and 168th Streets in Surrey. Presented by the Serpentine Enhancement Society with Metro Vancouver.
Even the biggest chinook know that all salmon start off as small fry. What better way to find out about these feisty fish than by checking out the annual Salmon Send-Off at Tynehead Regional Park hatchery — Saturday, May 10, from 11am to 3pm. Help release salmon fry into the Serpentine River, take a tour of the hatchery, and enjoy a ton of fun activities, all while learning about the salmon’s sensitive and fascinating ecology.
